Throw Back..

It was my birthday this time last week, I turned 24! Can you believe it 24!

I'm sure some of you are thinking that is still so young but it's strange for me I feel that I should be grown up! Its almost 25! I always thought in my head that by the time I was 25 I would be settled down, in my forever home with a 'proper' job and at least comfortable and now that is just 1 year away!

So with that in mind I scraped an old picture I had of myself from back in 2010 (when selfies were still a rare thing)

I have used Kaisercraft - Happy Snaps collection.

Another Tiddly ink Challenge Card...

The Challenge over at Tiddly Inks now is Paws for thought!
Here is the card I have entered in -

I used the digital Stamp 'wryn somebunny' and coloured her in with my copics. The patterned paper I used is from the collection crate paper the pier which I have just mounted on Stampin Up basin black cardstock.

I am really happy with the way it turned out and I am going to give it to a good friend for her birthday and she is bunny rabbit obsessed.

It is using a digi stamp from the company Tiddly Inks, I have only recently found the company and I have become a little obsessed, I want to work with them all! I have also entered it into this weeks challenge. Here I coloured her in with my Copics.

The embellishments and patterned paper is from simple stories 'I Am' collection.

Let's Eat Cake!...

With some of June's Kreative-Kit I made this scrapbook layout to document Austins 2nd Birthday.

I love the way the coulors from the papers and embellishments pop against the blank and white photo.

The photo is of the moment Austin Couldn't wait while his mum went and got a knife to cut his birthday cake, so he just bit right into it!

Jobie's Birthday...

Last saturday was my uncle jobie's birthday, this is the card I made for him...

Its a very simple card I made but I think it turned out quite effective and it was a great way to use up scraps! Here I used some of the paper I have left over from Mays's Kreative Kit.

We all went out for dinner to celebrate, we tried 'Smokey's' in Brighton, it was amazing! If you have never been there I really suggest you try it, if you love american style food. Don't judge it on the outside give it a chance and wow your be amazed. The potion size is huge and it all tastes great! They even have sweet potato fries which are my favorite.

Have you ever been? what did you think?

Jenny's Birthday Card...

It was Jenny's birthday on Wednesday, I made this card for her using the Altenew Persian Motifs Stamp set, I love using it so much! I think its so classy and elegant.

I heat embossed a selection of the flowers all over the card in Wow! gold powder, then simply coloured the petals in with my blue Copic pens. For the leaves I tried a new technique and filled them in with Indian gold ink, I think it gave them a lovely shine and looked kind of different depending on the way the light hit it.

I made the frame just using two rectangle dies, one inside the other. The sentiment is from the stamp set 'It's All Relative' from Wow! which is also heat embossed in the same gold.

What do you think?

Cindy's Birthday...

I just want to say happy birthday Cindy I hope you have an amazing day.

Cindy was actually lucky to receive a card from me at all this year because as I was making it, I decided I loved it to much to give away but mum convinced me you can't hang on to everything.:)

This is the finished card -

I really love how it turned out. The background and patterned paper I used is from a 6x6 paper pad from doodlebug called 'Kraft in Color' which is just a picture of all different patterns in the basic colour selection.

I then die cut the banner from the set Justrite 'Buntings & Buttons' in SU Basic Black and also cut out a selection of clouds from a few dies I have (the largest cloud is actually a top of a cupcake)

To finish it all off I just layered it up and used the sentiment from crazy about you stamp set and thinlits dies which I heat embossed with the Wow! powders to give a little shine.

I hope you love it as much as I do.

Jenny's Birthday!

For Jenny's birthday I made her a card that I would say isn't really 'my style'.  For the center image I used a Lili Of the Valley Stamp called 'James with flower' and coloured it in with copics.

I really enjoyed the Copic classes, I feel like we learnt so much but yet there is still so much more to learn with the copics. I feel James the bear turned out ok but it could be more like that skill.

Hope you have a great day jenny!

Happy 14th Birthday Sofie!!

Yesterday was Sofie's 14th birthday, we went to westfeild shopping center for the day, as Sofie is at the stage that she just wants money for her birthday, so she can go shopping and choose her own presents (and we get to enjoy the day). :)

This is the card I made for her...

The patterned paper is from the Simple Stories I Am collection, I am a little obsessed with it, its just so beautiful. Almost to gorgeous to use, but i'm trying to not be a hoarder and enjoy using it not just keep it safe stashed away for years. The yellow bunting at the top is from a Justrite dies set called - Bunting and Buttons Die, which I then embossed in the Swiss dots embossing folder.

This is us at Nando's for dinner (Sofie's choice), it was lovely!

Happy Birthday Sandie!

I made Sandies card using the gorgeous Stampin Up butterfly die, I love this die so much it cuts out so nicely and is just beautiful.

I also heat embossed 'Stitched Circles' Justrite background stamp in 'Azure' which is the perfect match for Stampin Ups Tempting Turquoise.

Hope you had a great day Sandie!

Happy Birthday Kay...

I made Kays Birthday Card this year using some more papers out of the  Teresa Collins, Nine & Co. 6X6 paper pad.

The frame in the center is a Justrite cling stamp from the set called 'Kindness' and the matching dies that are in the set called 'Labels Twenty Set', its one of mum that she has has for quite some time and I have never used it as in the packaging I think it looks a little dated but on this card I really love it! I think stamping in the mint colour on the white card-stock really brings it to life.

Hope you have a great day Kay!

Mary's Birthday Card...

Happy Birthday Mary! This is the card I made for her...

For the flowers I used the Stampin Up stamp and die set called 'Flower Patch' and the patterned background papers are from the My Minds Eye 6x6 paper pad called 'Chalk Studio' and The blue border is Stampin Up's 'Pacific Point'

I think this card came together well at the end and is great for the spring. :)

I hope you have a great day Mary.

Birthday Card...

Today's card I made using the Stampin up 'Starburst Dies' I really  love that they are a circle shape with just a little bit of a different edge to them. I am very tempted to buy the stamp set that fits inside. I'm just not sure how often you would use those words.

I also tried the resist technique by heat embossing with Wow! superfine 'opaque bright white' onto white card stock and then distressing with Tim Holtz 'Spiced Marmalade' all over the top, I really like the way it turned out actually I wasn't sure as I was doing it but now its on the card I think it really pops and that its kind of nice that it has a bit of texture to the colour.

I have also used the stamp by Justrite called 'Ticking Stripe' and heat embossed that in Wow! 'Matallic Silver' onto SU 'Bermuda Bay' card stock.  The orange that you see is actually just SU washi tape that I have punched out and placed on top to add a bit more colour to the card.

What do you think of the resist technique?

Nan's Birthday...

Its nan's birthday on Monday, so we are all going for a family lunch to celebrate. We are going to try Jimmy's the new buffet in Brighton marina, we have all heard very mixed reviews so fingers crossed its ok.

This is the box card I made for her using the new 'Flower Patch' stamp and die set by stampin' up (sorry I know I used it on my last card as well I just love it).

I used the colour's Pool party, Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz and Stampin' Up So Saffron patterned paper on the outside of the box. For the box itself I used Cardstock in Crumb Cake.

I heat embossed on the flaps of the box with the Wow! Canvas stamp in Pale Gold, I love the Texture it gives to the box. I also added a little bit of Wink of Stella to some of the flowers to make them sparkle as they move around.

Have you ever made a Box card?

My First Card Of The Year...

I made this Birthday card a few nights ago and it was lovely to play with so new bits and not to be making Christmas cards anymore.

I used a Lifestyle crafts nesting doily square die for the center and simply just added a few flowers from the stampin up 'Flower Patch' stamp and die set.

I then scored 6 lines into the center of the card base. I have seen a lot of people doing this on pinterest lately and I love the simple effect that it gives.

Have you made any cards since christmas?

Granddad's 60TH...

On Sunday we celebrated granddads 60th Birthday, Nan had organised for private dining at the grand hotel as a surprise for him plus the two of them to stay for the night.

This is the card I made for him...

He is a huge fast car fan, so I thought of the idea of trying to include 0 - 60 in seconds on the card, I used the Sizzix here & there set which I love using on Project life layouts as there is such a selection of arrows and lovely that they all come with matching dies to draw all the attention to the center where I had pre-printed the sentiment. I think its a very simple but effective card and he found it very funny when he opened it. =)

This is us all on the night at the grand...
