Besties - October Same But Different Challenge Card...

Its that time of the month again for the Besties same but different challenge. This months is IMG706 -

Here is my card -

With Christmas fast approaching I decided to make her Christmas themed. The background paper is doodlebug and the tag and doilie is just from my collection.

The die cut word Merry is a recent realise from lawn fawn and I just love it! The stamped Christmas is also from lawn fawn from a set called Merry Messages.

Christmas Baubles..

During the christmas season I snapped this photo of my reflection in one of our christmas balls. Although the background behind me isn't particularly christmassy, I still think it's a fun festive photo.

I Just used a Stampin Up 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper from there basics paper pads for the background edge. The ball balls are actually die cut out of Project Life cards from the Becky Higgins collection Christmas Wishes and the snowflakes are just two Martha Stewart punches, punched out of metallic silver card.

Project Life - Christmas...

My last Project life of 2014 is of course a Christmas layout. I didn't actually take that many pictures over Christmas, so I only had enough photos to do a single layout.

I used the Stampin' Up set called 'Season's of style' and the coordination stickers.

One of my new years resolution this year is to do more project life, and to actually project life photos as soon as I take them so I remember all the small details and not just let it all the photos build up.

Christmas Card 3...

For Austin I made this cute Father Christmas Card. I used Stampin Up Real Red for his hat and tongue and Blushing Bride for his skin colour.

To get the look of hair for the beard and mustache I used Divine Swirls embossing folder. I really like how this card turned out.

Christmas Card 2...

I have finally managed to finish all my Christmas cards, I was going to post them all after Christmas just in case anyone who was receiving one was reading the blog, but I have decided after Christmas I don't think anyone will want to still be seeing anything to do with Christmas.

My little cousin Rosa is a little obsessed with the movie Frozen, so for her card I created a simple snowman looking up, with a Penny Black sentiment stamped in Stampin Up's Chocolate Chip Ink.

I used the new DoodleBug Frosty Friends collection paper for the background and the scarf.

Lili Of The Valley - Challenge Card...

Here's my card for this months LOTV challenge.
I have never played along with this challenge before but mum insisted I give it a go with her...

It was also my first time ever (Yes ever!!) Copic coloring, I think it went ok and was much easier than I thought it would be thankfully, But now it has made me want to have my own collection of Copics so I'm not sharing mums.

The other new thing I tried on this card is heat embossing on top of texture paste. I just used the texture paste as normal but while it was still wet added the Wow white pearl on top and tapped of the excess, left it over night to all dry and then in the morning used the heat gun to melt the powder and it turned out perfectly! I love the way it turned out!

Unfortunately mum and I didn't actually get to enter the competition as we didn't realise it had to enter before last night but its fine it was still great fun taking part.

Find mum's card here

Let me know who's you think is better? =)

Card Making...

Back at the beginning of the year when mum first suggested that I got back into crafting, I was adamant that I wouldn't do cards just project life. That was fine for the first six months before I started to get all of my own crafting supplies and wanted to create more than I could keep up with in photos. Plus when all the family realised I was crafting it felt a little strange that I wasn't making them a special card from myself. So i started just making the odd birthday card here and there.

So this year is the first year that I have taken on the challenge to do all my own christmas cards, before I was just always included in our family's cards that mum created.

I will be posting them up individually as I create them, so keep popping back to see what I have been making.

This was my first one -

I used a stamp set from justrite called snowflakes that I brought from ally pally earlier in the year.

I used Stampin' ups real red and smoky slate cardstock and the matching inks plus bermuda bay inkpad for the snowflakes.

I hope you like my card let me know what you think...
