Adventure...

Today I have to share with you a scrapbook layout I created using two cut files. The first one is the globe which I saw on the silhouette store and knew I had to have straight away! And the second is just the word adventure which I just typed out and cut to fit on top of my photograph.

When I first started this page I actually thought I was going to use the negative of the globe and have the blue stripes coming though but with much playing around I switched it and am now very happy I did! I have still kept the negative so you might see that pop up some time in the future.

The photograph is just one I snapped of the airplane which we flew on, on our way home to England from America on our last visit.

The background paper is actually from the simple stories - say cheese collection but the other paper and embellishments are from one of my favourite collections called lets go by Bella Blvd.

#thedailymarker30day - Day 7 - Chill Out + Splash...

I have a slightly different scrapbook layout to share with you today. I have been very brave and used the packaging affect on it, to create a water splash like effect on the layout.

I think it works perfectly with the photos of my cousins playing on Clearwater beach, just slashing and having fun in Florida and also works very well with the collection Fun In The Sun by Pebbles.

I am using it for my day 7 of the 30 day colour challenge as well by Kathy Rac. As it uses ink and colour. :P

CSI Challenge 206 - Celebrate With Friends...

Today I have to share with you another CSI case file. You might remember just a little while ago I played along with the CSI challenge for the first time well  I loved it so much I just couldn't stay away! This is the case file for challenge #206 -

The SCHEME
- All colours accounted for
The EVIDENCE
- Stars
- Stripes
- Something Woven (In the picture)
- Frames
- Fabric
- Metal
- Wood
- Circles
-Grid
THE TESTIMONY:
- Inspiration Word: Celebrate

The photo is one of the group of us that visited America this past may. We actually meet up with my uncle and his family who was also visiting Florida to celebrate my cousins 3rd birthday at Mickeys Backyard BBQ!

I used the paper collection Say Cheese by Simple Stories and the star background is one I cut out on my Silhouette machine. I also cut one for my mum so make sure you go and check out how she uses hers on her blog

I didn't actually use much else on this layout. The title uses Thickers called Oakleaf in Rocky Road and the wood veneers are from american crafts, all the other bits and bobs are either from the ephemera kit or just odd bits I had in my collection like the tag and the metal paperclips. Oh and what you can only very lightly see is that I have distressed the star cut file slightly with the distress ink Walnut stain.

I hope you like my layout and I can't wait to see what everyone else makes with this case file!

Stuck?! Sketches Challenge - July 1st - Characters In Flight...

Today I have another challenge layout for you from Stuck?! Sketches. They run challenges twice monthly this is the 1st one for the month of July -

Here is my layout -

I used the collection Lets Go from Bella Blvd to document the trip we had on the airballon in Disney Springs on our last visit to America. #paperettesontour

I think the sketch worked perfectly with the photos and it was so nice to work with a sketch! I have to admit I have never worked from one before I have always just made it up as I go! But it was so nice and I will definitely be playing along with this challenge again.

Do you work from a sketch? I would love to see what you create with this sketch...

#thedailymarker30day - Day 1...

Today is the first day of a challenge I have decided to play along which is the colouring challenge hosted by Kathy Rac. So I will be posting what I colour up on here everyday :)

Today I coloured a Tiddly Ink image called Everyday Princess with my Copic pens...

and I actually had enough time to make it into a card today (which I dont think I will all the 30 days) and I am very happy with the way it turned out. I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut out the word wish and then stamped the Make A above. I also used a Martha Stewart punch on the side on the image and the backing peice of paper is an old Doodlebug one I have had in my collection forever!

CSI Challenge 204 - Dream...

I have wanted to join in on one of the case files from CSI for a little while now but worried that my style of scrapbooking didn't really seem to match the layouts that they normally post for inspiration, but I saw this weeks challenge case file #204 and knew I had to play along.

The SCHEME
- All colours accounted for
The EVIDENCE
- Damask Pattern
- Stripes
- Hearts
- Flowers
- Borders
- Frames
- Doilies
- Bunting
THE TESTIMONY:
- Something I love
Inspiration Word: Dream

The photo was snapped in front of Cinderella's castle back in november when we visited Magic Kingdom. I used the paper collection Enchanted by Simple Stories and the word Dream I designed and cut out on my Silhouette machine.
I also used three dies on this layout which are the Banner at the top right from My Favourite Things, the hearts which are from Memory box and the clouds which is actually a cupcake top from sizzix but works perfectly as a cloud.
The pattern you can see on the blue paper under the word Dream is a Wow! stamp called Vintage Wallpaper which I just stamp in Versamark.

Day 11 - Clearwater...

My next layout I have to share with you is of photos that I took on our day 11. On this day we drove across to a city called clear water about 2 hours away from where we were staying. It was a great day out and lovely to see the america sea. It was a amazing atmosphere on the beach and although it was busy and super hot!

On this layout I have used a cut file for the background that mum and I challenged each other to use, you can see hers HERE. Behind it I have punched circles of the Maggie Holmes - Confetti collection to fit in the circles plus cut down a few of the photos that were taken on the day.

I am really happy with the way this layout has turned out, but since taking the photos i have actually added the word clearwater onto the bottom of the picture. Have you ever used a large cut file as a background?
